Vegetation
Topography, soils, climate and, in part, human activities have created conditions for the emergence and development of a rich and complex vegetation. Most of the village territory is covered with forest vegetation, about 11. 641 hectares, representing 70% of the area, the proportion of species would be as follows: 64%, beech, 20% spruce, 14%, 2% pine and other species.

Fauna
The nature, with a rich vegetation, favored the development of a diverse fauna. We can meet in the forests around us deer, bears, wolves, foxes, martens and squirrels. In the hills: rabbit, badger, badgers, wild boars and in lower areas, forest mice, weasels, lynx, pars. Rich is the category of birds, starting with crows and continuing with woodpeckers, milvus, blackbirds, thrushes, jays, quails. In Sihla we are meeting mountain roosters.

Population
Archaeological discoveries have proved that our region has been inhabited since ancient times. What factors have brought the population to these places? Maybe the surfaces of pastures and meadows that could provide food for animals or forests that offer game, fruit and a refuge in case of need, source of water indispensable for life, waters rich in fish, salt water sources for food, feed and conservation of products or individually and all together.

Over the local population have settled along the time and other populations. First, a population coming from Transylvania practicing transhumance to the plains Jijia, Delta and beyond. A new wave of Transylvanians are established after the defeat of the uprising led by Horea, Closca and Crisan in 1784. They were placed in the southern part of the village, which received the name of UNGURENI.

The traditional occupation of the inhabitants was Livestock with the activities of processing milk, wool and hides, weaving and knitting. Important in the past were fishing, bee-keeping and hunting. Moreover, from the reputation of good hunters comes the name of the village.
